Stephen J. Schueler, M.D.
President

Doctor Stephen Schueler has been an emergency physician, teacher and author for the past twenty years. After completing his Emergency Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, he practiced in a large suburban emergency department in Florida. He has been an active member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) for two decades.

Dr. Schueler is a recognized authority in the area of medical expert systems and demand management and has served as faculty to the ACEP Management Academy. He has consulted to the US Department of Defense and the U.S. General Accounting Office in the areas of consumer health information and self care. Over the past decade, he has published a dozen software titles that empower consumers to achieve better health. Dr. Schueler's Home Medical Advisor® multimedia CD series was honored with a National Health Information Award and has sold over 2 million copies, published in 4 languages.


John H. Beckett, MD, FACEP, FAAEM
Vice President

Doctor John Beckett is an experienced medical content writer and editor, and an authority in the areas of triage, e-healthcare, and emergency medicine. After completing his Emergency Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Beckett practiced in large suburban emergency departments in Massachusetts and Ohio, where he served as a corporate director for two large emergency medicine practices and a regional independent practice association. Dr. Beckett is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, a fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Physicians, and a past member of the American College of Physician Executives. In 2000, Dr. Beckett led a team of DSHI clinicians and engineers to implement an enterprise telephone triage and health information system for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition to content creation and editing, Dr. Beckett is responsible for new business development and government operations.


D. Scott Gettings, MD, FACEP, FACFE
Medical Director

Doctor Scott Gettings has over 24 years of clinical experience in Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Emergency Medicine. He trained in medical school and residency at the University of South Florida, and is board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Forensic Medicine, and Risk Management. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Forensic Medicine, and the American Association of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Gettings brings extensive experience in medical education, writing, management, and medical computer applications to DSHI. He has designed and developed a number of professional and consumer medical practice and educational products. He has served in multiple leadership positions in large medical group practices, hospital systems, managed care organizations and professional medical societies.


Gail Morrison, RN, TNCC, CEN
Director of Clinical Training

Gail Morrison is responsible for curriculum development and training in DSHI's programs, ensuring a smooth transition for the program users.

Gail has over 20 years of experience in nursing in staff, supervisory and administrative positions. Throughout her nursing career, Gail has actively participated in staff training as a preceptor for nursing and paramedic students. Gail continues to work as a perioperative nurse and sits on the Surgical Services Committee. She previously worked in aviation as a flight attendant supervisor, instructor and liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

Gail is also affiliated with the American Heart Association, Emergency Nurse's Association and the Association of Perioperative Nurses.
